SUMMARY:MAVERICKS
DESCRIPTION:Summit\n\n\nMAVERICKS\n\n\n\nmen as advocates for women’s visibility!\n\n\n\nApril 13\, 2026 \n\n\n\n14:00-18:00Adyen Amsterdam \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\nGet your tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe only “Manel” you should join this year \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat’s a Manel?\n\n\n\nIt refers to all-male panels and is used to highlight the exclusion of women as subject-matter experts. But we’re flipping the script! On April 13th\, we’re putting only male allies and advocates on stage to share how they’re showing up for women and what other men can do to actually move the needle. \n\n\n\nWhy men need to be part of this conversation\n\n\n\nThe reality is that men hold the majority of leadership positions. Which means they hold the power to change things. Without men actively participating in gender inclusion\, we’re saying gender diversity is a women’s issue. It’s not. It’s everyone’s issue. And the data backs it up. Research by BCG shows that when men don’t participate in gender equity efforts\, progress sits at 30%. \n\n\n\nWhen men do participate? Progress jumps to 96%\, so three times higher. Men also act as role models and influencers for other men. They can shift behaviors\, challenge norms and open doors that have been closed for far too long. \n\n\n\nIf we want 50/50 representation\, and we should\, we need to get there together. \n\n\n\nWhat we’re going to be talking about\n\n\n\nWe’re gonna have honest conversations about what advocacy actually looks like: \n\n\n\n\nLeveraging your privilege\n\n\n\nUse your access and influence to open doors for women.\n\n\n\nCreating safe spaces to be authentic\n\n\n\nHold yourself accountable to build truly inclusive environments.\n\n\n\nBreaking the rules (especially if they don’t work for women)\n\n\n\nUse your position as a gatekeeper to change or better yet\, break the systems that hold women back.\n\n\n\nPracticing curiosity\, not assuming things are they way they are\n\n\n\nAsk questions. Even the uncomfortable ones.\n\n\n\nShowing respect & emotion\n\n\n\nBe the one who leads with humanity\, not just authority.\n\n\n\n\nWho should come\n\n\n\nThis event is for pairs\, one man and one woman\, who are serious about closing the gender gap in leadership. This event is for people who believe progress happens when we work together\, not in silos and are looking for practical tools and real life stories to inspire them \n\n\n\n\nWhat you can expect\n\n\n\n\nAn energizing afternoon filled with panel discussions\, storytelling and presentations by men who are currently advocates for women in the workplace.\n\n\n\nActive participation with plenty of Q&A moments\, breakout rooms and exercises to get the real conversation going.\n\n\n\nA great networking opportunity to connect with likeminded businessmen and women that are working for an equal workforce\n\n\n\nDrinks and snacks to continue the conversations off stage\n\n\n\n The most gender balanced audience you’ve ever seen.\n\n\n\n\n\nGot a question we can’t miss? Send your suggestion here (info@brandedu.nl) \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor the male advocate\n\n\n\nYou want to move beyond performative allyship and use your influence to actually open doors for women. You’re tired of watching talented women get overlooked and you’re ready to challenge the systems that keep them there\, even if it means breaking some rules. You’re willing to have uncomfortable conversations and show up publicly for this cause. \n\n\n\n\nYou know your privilege is only valuable if you use it to make room for others. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor the woman building her career\n\n\n\nYou’re ambitious\, talented\, and exhausted from being the only voice pushing for change. You’ve spent years navigating systems that weren’t built for you\, and you’re tired of fighting alone. You want to work in an environment where male leaders actually get it\, where they don’t just nod along but actively advocate for you and other women. You’re looking for examples of what real male allyship looks like\, and you want to bring a male colleague or leader who’s ready to step up alongside you. \n\n\n\n\nYou’re here because you deserve allies who show up\, not just speak up. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nGet your tickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpeakers\n\n\n\n\nYour host \n\n\n\nNancy PoleonFounder BrandedU \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAmir AttariTechnology Delivery Lead at Accenture \n\n\n\n\n\nBas RapatiChief Analytics Officer at Van Lanschot Kempen \n\n\n\n\n\nIain DuncanDirector of Engineering\, Software at Booking.com \n\n\n\n\n\nJasper KlapwijkManager Business Development & Health Lead at Invest International \n\n\n\n\n\nJeffrey Liong A KongPassenger Service Lead at KLM \n\n\n\n\n\nSjoerd KueterGlobal HR Director – People and Organisational Development at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou can only come in pairs\n\n\n\nWe practice what we preach: we want 50/50 representation in the room too.
