Mavericks

Looking to build a squad of Mavericks in your workplace? Get the briefing about in-company workshops and special training.

We’re looking for 10.000 good men who are helping women reach new heights at work.

When women alone push for gender equality, progress stalls at 30%. But when men join in the (dog)fight, progress soars to 96%*. So, to make meaningful change, we’re looking for Mavericks who go to work for women to make work better for everyone. Wingmen who lift us up and say our names when we are not in the room.

To help find Mavericks in the workplace, we’ve developed 2 quizzes. Take a quiz and join the squad of men who are helping make work better for women!

@women: please share the quizzes with the men in your network to help identify Mavericks at work fighting on behalf of all of us. Awareness is where advocacy begins. And recognition is where it grows.

Fly Past Ally to Advocate

More than an ally, a Maverick is an advocate. What’s the difference?

  • An ally lends support but doesn’t take meaningful action. An advocate uses their privilege, platform and voice to call attention to injustice and push for change.
  • Mavericks are advocates, unafraid to venture into uncharted territories and fight for what is right.
  • Mavericks are independent thinkers who speak up to confront gender bias and act to change the culture.
  • Mavericks bravely push through barriers to ensure women have the opportunities they deserve.

The Challenger

Refuses film roles if female co-stars are not paid equally.

The Amplifier

The Includer

The Promoter

Built a gender-balanced cabinet.

The Acknowledger

Confronted reporter’s casual sexism and credited Serena and Venus Williams.

The Connector

Uses his platform to give women athletes a bigger platform.

In a World of Icemen, Be a Maverick.

Are you helping make workplaces more inclusive?  Join the squad and be part of our effort to recognize 10.000 Mavericks by the end of 2024 (????️ optional).  We feel the need, the need for equality! (had to be done)

Advancements in gender equality depend on your organization’s leadership and the team they have built. With the right leader, the sky is the limit. * Research conducted by BCG in the UK shows that when men don’t participate, progress in gender equality stands at 30%. But when men actively advocate for women, progress triples, reaching a staggering 96%.
