5 OPPORTUNITIES TO JUMP ON THE MENTORING PROGRAM THAT WILL ACCELERATE YOUR CAREER

5 OPPORTUNITIES TO JUMP ON THE MENTORING PROGRAM THAT WILL ACCELERATE YOUR CAREER

WHAT IS IT:

Women’s Visibility Week is a 5-day breakfast event for women in business to connect with aspiring and relatable women mentors. Every day is hosted by a different company in a different field (finance, tech, media, manufacturing, leadership), you can join for one, two or as many mornings as you like.

This cross-company mentorship program was created from the belief that “you can’t be what you can’t see”. It’s a way to develop women leaders in a group environment, enable the exchange of lessons learned from experience, garner first-hand advice from today’s women leaders and discuss topics that will accelerate women’s full potential.

WHY JOIN?

Mentorship is an important part of your professional and career development. Having a mentor can help you figure out how to move forward in your career and what to look out for. A mentor is usually someone outside of your current organisation who provides career direction and advice, helps to identify opportunities, and offers feedback and support.
This is a great opportunity to meet one! We know how busy you are and how hard it is to find the time and energy to network, here’s your chance to make the best of that time! Join us for a couple of hours over breakfast and go home with a mentor! Mentoring helps women ideate about what they will become. It helps women feel more empowered in the workplace. And this is what women in business who are serious about their careers need to take their next career step.

Women who are mentored by other women feel more supported and are often more satisfied with their careers.

Our aim for this week is to make sure that, as businesswomen, we have more visible role models whose footsteps we can follow.

We match women in business with carefully selected mentors from a variety of industries and backgrounds, who will support their mentees as they consider their next stage of business and professional growth.

This is the time for women to explore career paths and learn from today’s most influential businesswomen. Mentors are women leading at organizations such as KPN, AEGON, GREAT PLACE TO WORK and many more!

Connecting women in the workplace with mentors to help them grow in their careers.

WHY WE’RE DOING THIS

Climbing the career ladder is harder for women. Connecting with real life women role models is important because, having a role model can help us define our career.  They make women more ambitious and aim higher. Furthermore, role models set an example for mindsets and behaviors to rise in our careers. Mentoring programs facilitate the development of the leadership skills that allow women to step towards top positions. Here are 4  ways mentoring can benefit women:

  1. It helps to articulate your career ambitions
  2. It lets you stay on track of the goals you want to achieve
  3. We’re creating this in a group environment so you can build a fab network
  4. Meeting other ambitious like-minded women will help you gain confidence

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?

  • You will get the list of mentors in advance and will be able to send us your top 5 preferred mentors. We will do our best to connect you with someone in your top 5.
  • The mentor will meet you at least twice in 2022, once at the breakfast and once more at a determined time by you both. Of course, if you hit it off you might be able to meet and connect more.
  • The breakfast will include women from your industry, and you will have multiple networking moments at the event. Food and drinks are included in the price.
  • Every breakfast starts with a 15 min personal branding talk by Nancy Poleon (founder of BrandedU) followed by a guest speakers/rolemodels of the company hosting the breakfast.
