What’s Going On?

What’s going on? Like Marvin Gaye sang way back in 1971…

Ohhhhh… What a week it has been.

Here in Amsterdam 3 people were brutally shot. One victim was a friend of so many people I knew, my Facebook timeline blew up about this on Sunday afternoon. Hurricane Matthew caused havoc in the Caribbean, particularly in Haiti, as if they haven’t got enough troubles. And Mr. Trump talked about grabbing them by the pussy. Say what?!

In times like these, I look to music. For inspiration, for prayer, for something to be grateful for. And it came. Yes it came. I have been so happy listening to the new Solange album: A seat at the table. It is like the food for your soul is served!

Love, love, love it and I feel this album! So what can we learn from Solange?

She talks about race, belonging, origin and so many social issues of this time on her album.

If at first you don’t succeed, dust yourself off and try again
Her career hasn’t always been a straight up success like that of her famous sister Beyoncé, but still she kept on going.

Be yourself, it is good enough.
I L O V E her style. She never follows fashion but always looks fashionable.
